Heart of Mine Gets Its Start Now!
As we welcome in a new year, we reflect on the challenges of last year. Never have we had to maneuver something as all-encompassing as the global pandemic. It
was impossible for anyone not to be affected, including ourselves.
But we now have our eyes on 2021. And we continue to roll out all the pieces of the puzzle needed to make the GoldFinX project an all-embracing success!
This is why we have chosen now to officially start the
Heart of Mine Foundation.
Eliminating mercury usage in Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mines, building a brighter future for their communities, and solving a major global environmental
crisis.
The Heart of Mine Foundation (HoM) will do everything that GoldFinX is not set up to do. It will help the small mining communities to finally get rid of mercury
from their everyday lives by implementing an impact plan using the following four key elements:
Education: Building safe & highly skilled local workforces with technical expertise and mercury awareness.
Supply Channel: Cleaning up ASGM supply chains, with a focus on mercury reduction and mining process interventions.
Health Care: Providing access to mobile health care to treat mercury exposure and related health issues.
Environment: Advancing research and practical solutions to remediate damage to the environment from mercury.
This is a scalable intervention. As the foundation grows, the impact will be more far-reaching and effective. We are proud to finally get this valuable program
underway.
